SCOPE OF WORK

V2R Projects was engaged to complete an Internal Refurbishment of three transit live in accommodation buildings at the RAAF Base in Townsville. The three-storey buildings, each house 67 units, with a common kitchen and living area, two laundries, and four bathrooms (two per gender) on every level and are used as temporary accommodation for both male and female military personnel. The scope of work included the refurbishment of all bathrooms and laundries, including the replacement of all sanitary fittings, mirrors, partitions, vanities, and joinery fittings. Bathrooms waterproofed to standard and new ceramic tiles installed to walls and floors. Basins in some of the individual units were also replaced. Existing painted floors in all other areas of the buildings prepared to receive new epoxy floors and vinyl covered skirtings. Full internal repaint, electrical upgrade, existing Emergency Warning Intercom Systems removed and decommissioned and new Occupant Warning Systems installed.

INNOVATION

Undertaking this project in an operating section of RAAF Townsville had co-ordination requirements that were required to be factored to ensure that Defence has minimal disruption to their exercises.
